Regular -ar preterite verbs follow: -e, -aste, -o, -amos, -asteis, -aron

Regular -er/ir preterite verbs follow: -i, iste, -io, imos, -isteis, -ieron

However, irregulars experience stem changes and follow these endings: -e, -iste, -o, -imos, -isteis, -ieron

Examples:

Estuve en la escuela- I was at the school.
Anduve a mi casa- I walke to my house.
Tuve 14 años cuando... I was 14 years old when...
Yo fui al parque ayer.- I went to the park yesterday.
Ellos me dieron un pastel.- They gave me a cake.
Yo vi el partido de basquetbol.- I saw the basketball game.
